All research personnel at Vinmec–VinUni are thoroughly trained in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) through official training programs on “Good Clinical Practice in Clinical Trials” and “Safety Reporting in Clinical Drug Trials” organized by the Ministry of Health prior to participating in research activities. Vinmec–VinUni experts have been early pioneers in researching stem cell therapy applications for conditions such as cerebral palsy and autism, while conducting multiple clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficacy of stem cell-based therapies in complex diseases including liver cirrhosis, COPD, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, diabetes, post-traumatic and post-stroke neurological sequelae, and endocrine dysfunction affecting reproductive health, among others.

In addition, Vinmec–VinUni actively researches and applies advanced medical innovations such as CAR-T therapy for hematologic malignancies and personalized 3D printing technologies in surgery to enhance procedural precision and improve patient outcomes. In January 2025, Vinmec and VinUni signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PPD (Thermo Fisher Scientific), one of the world’s leading contract research organizations (CROs) in clinical trials. Under this agreement, Vinmec–VinUni officially became a Select Site within PPD’s global network, participating in advanced clinical trial projects in cell therapy. Being selected by PPD affirms Vinmec–VinUni’s recognized position in clinical research and opens opportunities to collaborate with leading pharmaceutical companies and research centers worldwide.

In addition to PPD, Vinmec maintains extensive international collaborations. Vinmec is proud to be the first hospital system in Vietnam to join the Cleveland Clinic Connected network (USA). Vinmec–VinUni also partners with leading universities such as the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University (USA) to exchange experts and advance scientific research.
